"Banging on a 2900"

TW3 (That Was The Week That Was),
Hello All,
Another hot Wednesday sent us home again at noon. Gail completed the prep work for the stay rods while Ralph worked on a tool/jig I requested to aid us with the installation of the stay rods. It will set the proper gap for the full penetration welds on the stay rods. Ralph completed the jig Saturday and it looks great!
Danny R. and George O. continued work on the lube oil heat exchanger. Saturday we got a break in the heat so we were able to work a full schedule. Gail and John G. cleaned monster weeds grown up around our exterior fence line. Danny R. and George O. made good progress on the lube oil heat exchanger. Safety officer, Jon S., returned from his vacation (not down under like I thought) and gave John G. the safety orientation. John G. and Ken D. secured our new work tent to the tool container. Pete A. and Bob D. worked at cleaning the valves and threaded parts on the steam fountain.
The rest of us began relocating stored items to make way for another container designated to store completed super heaters. Those helping out were Scott C., Clem H., Doc Mike and Ken D. At the end of the day we repositioned the boiler feed water heater to an area to be worked on.
On Friday I made a trip to the metal shop with Gail and Clem in tow. I needed to instruct them as to how we needed the side sheet cut while incorporating all the identification stamps. We stayed while the computer controlled plasma cutter worked it's magic. I thought I would be able to pick it up at the end of the day after beveling, but the call didn't come.
"Money Bags" delivered checks as Marlin and Warren worked in the office. Doyle C., at last report, is putting the finishing touches on the upcoming newsletter. Hope to see you all this coming week.
Keep Steamin',
Rick Kirby, CMO
